Giving Week 2024 breaks all campaign records
Alumni and friends came together to champion a wide variety of programs, from student scholarships to food pantry support. Of the record-setting 9,259 Giving Week donors, 1,408 gave to the university for the first time. The overall total included a 70% increase in alumni donors from the previous year.

Ben Porch survived after being diagnosed with male breast cancer. Now he is encouraging others with a family history of breast cancer to get genetic testing and, if they’re at risk, receive regular screenings.

King is the inaugural recipient of a new USF Women in Leadership & Philanthropy scholarship Giffin established last year with a $26,000 gift to the USF Foundation. She later enhanced the scholarship with a $1 million legacy gift. An office manager at a local neurology practice, King is busy explaining how she juggles her day job, being a mom to her 8-year-old son and pursuing her education degree at USF. It doesn’t take long for tears to flow between the two, meeting in person for the first time.
